When Telabyad was under the occupation of PKK/YPG, the PKK/YPG terror group converted buildings such as schools, hospitals, mosques and churches into terrorist headquarters. These buildings have been restored and reopened to public service by Turkey following the Operation Peace Spring.
The school in Ras al-Ayn’s Nukra Village also suffered the same fate, and was rendered unusable. Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Şanlıurfa Governorate and the help of the locals, repaired the school from top to bottom, making it functional to provide education.
The aforementioned school reopened for education under the name “Peace Spring Nukra Primary School”. The happiness of the students and their parents could be read from their facial expressions during the opening ceremony which was attended by Lieutenant-General Sinan Yayla and Sanliurfa Governor Abdullah Erin. The students gave their appreciation to Turkey once again with the bliss of reuniting with their school again.
